Image Details: “Spring Fever Songs & Sales” takes place 5:30-8:30 p.m. May 19.

The Downtown Sturgis Association event features musical acts at more than 10 downtown locations. The annual Eastside Kiwanis Club flower sale also takes place at Camburn’s, and several downtown shops will offer spring sales during the event. For Laura Johnson, DSA vice president and chairperson for the event, shopping local is important. "Downtown is the heart of your community," she said. "It stimulates the local economy and keeps the revenue local. It keeps the buildings full." And by shopping local, you are supporting a hard working individual from your hometown, Johnson said. "When you shop local, you're supporting your own neighborhood," she said. "It's a win-win situation: shopping local and keeping your downtown strong. You keep your community strong. Discover cool, unique items in our shops not found elsewhere."

  • Jessica Bruderick, Maximum Performance Chiropractic.
  • Halsey Claar, Lowry’s Books and More.
